This beautifully converted Stable House has been part of this Marin County property for well over 100 years. Stephen was given complete creative freedom and saw the same charm, craftsmanship and nostalgia that was there when the Stable was fully functioning and still housed the family horses and carriage. The floors are entirely original, every organic indentation where the horses stood for most of their lifetime still intact. 

It was important for the Client and Stephen to reclaim and salvage as much as possible, this even included a beloved Cedar Tree that had fallen on the property; which was later milled and used to make the ceiling of this wonderful retreat. 

The original stall partitions were used to make the stairs leading up the bedroom upstairs. The barn doors now stand guard and adorn the front door of the barn.
